Salary: up to £38k per annum depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (additional/alternative hours may be requested on occasion, to meet business need)

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team, helping to dual manage two of our Children’s Assessment Homes based in Buxton. Our Assessment homes provide short-term, therapeutic care and comprehensive assessments for children and young people aged 7 to 18. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of children in crisis, working alongside a committed team to deliver high-quality care and support.
About the Homes
Set in the beautiful countryside of rural Derbyshire, Peak View and Moorland Cottage offer a therapeutic and nurturing environment for children and young people. Over a 12-week placement, we deliver a structured assessment strategy to understand each child’s needs and determine the most appropriate long-term support.
Our approach is rooted in PACE principles, therapeutic care, access to education, and outdoor adventure programmes, all designed to promote emotional healing and personal growth.
We’re looking for someone with:
1. Experience in a children’s residential care setting (essential)
2. A minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (and a willingness to work towards Level 5)
3. Strong leadership and team management skills
4. A therapeutic, person-centred approach to care
5. A full UK driving licence (essential)
6. Full right to work in the UK (essential)
7. Aged 21 or over (due to industry regulations)

9. Lead, mentor and develop a team of care professionals
10. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care
11. Contribute to assessment planning and progress reviews
12. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and Esland policies
13. Build strong relationships with children, families, professionals and external agencies
14. Promote a safe, nurturing and empowering environment for young people
