The day-to-day responsibilities of a Chef de Partie:
The Chef de Partie is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality dishes and supporting the smooth operation of a specific kitchen section. This role requires strong knife skills, attention to detail, and understanding of Akis Standard Operating Procedures.
Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP regulations at all times
Take responsibility for a designated section (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry), ensuring quality and consistency in preparation and presentation
Prepare ingredients and dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and plating style
Show proficiency in knife work, baking, recipe scaling, and cooking techniques
Assist the Senior Chef de Partie with kitchen operations during service, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of dishes
Contribute ideas for menu development, daily specials, and seasonal updates
Maintain cleanliness and organization in your section, including proper equipment use and deep cleaning routines
Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and rotation in compliance with health regulations
Soft skills:
Adaptability to changes to avoid disruptions to service
Flexibility with shifts to cover business needs
Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
Good decision-making and organisational skills to stay on top of the busy service
