Our client is a leading global law firm, highly recognised for their Tech and Finance work, are now looking for a collaborative and solution focused Resource Manager – Work Allocation Specialist, to join their busy London offices on a permanent basis.

The Resource Manager – Work Allocation Specialist will play an important role in supporting the business with their legal staffing, work allocation and utilisation. This is a newly created role, so offers the opportunity to support the firm in shaping the function.

KEY DUTIES INCLUDE:


* Responsible for providing recommendations to the Practice Heads for resource allocations and utilisations and ensuring those recommendations are consistent with information barriers.
* Build and maintain strong and trusted relationships with partners, associates, trainees and professional staff.
* Identify with and understand the needs of lawyers across the practice and working with Practice Heads to resolve fee earner needs/issues and ensure they have the available resources.
* Responsible for the analysis and communication of fee earner capacity surveys.
* Responsibility for the tracking, identifying of and challenging any discrepancies in these forecasted activities as against recorded time.
* Assist with resource allocations and workload management for fee earners.
* Assist with aligning fee earners’ interests, objectives, and career development to new matters, wherever possible, whilst ensuring client needs are met.
* Analysis of and monitoring monthly billed and unbilled time to assist with work allocation and future planning.
* Responsible for analysing overall fee earner time performance to the Practice Heads, HR, and Finance Director for preparation of monthly reporting to the Management Committee.
* Share knowledge and contribute to performance and talent mapping discussions with HR.


The Resource Manager will have prior experience in resource management, workforce planning, within a law firm environment. It is essential to demonstrate the ability to be a trusted advisor who provides balanced, pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management to the business. Possessing outstanding stakeholder engagement skills at all levels, ability to build relationships quickly and easily gain credibility will be key. The right candidate will be an effective team player with excellent attention to detail, strong communication & interpersonal skills and be proficient in Microsoft applications. The ideal candidate will be a positive, adaptable & confident professional.
