Our client based just outside Southampton is looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant to take responsibility for the day to day stock ordering for the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in a career within Purchasing / Buying. Working for a company that highly value their staff, you will also be responsible for managing inventory levels to maximise efficiency. They are looking for someone with previous experience within a purchasing or buying role. The Role This is a busy and involved position where you will be involved in a wide range of purchasing activities. You will work closely with the Sales, Finance and Operations teams to ensure accuracy and correct fulfilment levels. The role will include placing, progressing and chasing orders, demand planning, forecasting and inventory management. You will need to build strong relationships both internally and with suppliers. The Ideal Candidate In order to be considered for this role you will need to have previous experience within purchasing/buying. You must have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your work and be confident working to strict deadlines. You will need to be IT literate in particular Excel including V-Look ups and Pivot tables.
