The Opportunity
At Holcim UK, were building progress for people and the planet, and were looking for an experienced Factory Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our Callow site. This is a senior operational leadership role responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality production while driving continuous improvement across the facility.
As Factory Manager, youll take full responsibility for all manufacturing operations on site. You will lead teams across production, maintenance, logistics and quality, ensuring the site operates safely, meets performance targets and supports the wider business strategy. Central to the role is maintaining our Zero Harm culture, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors and visitors at all times.
The Opportunity This role combines operational leadership, financial accountability and people development, giving you the opportunity to drive performance while building a strong site culture. Youll oversee manufacturing processes, implement best practice maintenance strategies, manage budgets and maintain strong relationships with internal sales teams and external stakeholders.
Youll also play a key role in driving efficiency improvements, ensuring product quality standards are met and identifying opportunities to enhance business performance.
What Youll Be Doing Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership
Promoting a strong Zero Harm culture across the site and leading visible safety initiatives
Ensuring compliance with UK HSE legislation, ISO 14001 standards and company policies
Leading site safety meetings, safety briefings and improvement plans
Investigating incidents, near misses and safety concerns and implementing corrective actions
Maintaining environmental compliance and supporting sustainability objectives
Operational & Manufacturing Management
Leading and developing operational teams to meet KPIs, production targets and operational standards
Driving manufacturing efficiency through OEE, REE, Lean principles and planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Managing plant reliability, maintenance planning and critical spares to maximise equipment uptime
Ensuring all products are manufactured to required quality and BSI/ISO standards
Managing relationships with key suppliers to ensure value and service performance
Financial & Commercial Performance
Managing site budget performance, overheads and operational variances
Producing forecasts, financial reports and performance updates
Maintaining capital investment plans and managing project delivery
Managing inventory levels and stock accuracy across raw materials and finished goods
Sales, Logistics & Customer Engagement
Working closely with internal sales teams to support customer demand and service delivery
Supporting site visits and customer engagement activities
Monitoring safety and compliance of third-party logistics providers and hauliers
People Leadership
Leading, coaching and developing site teams to achieve performance objectives
Managing recruitment, training and development plans for operational staff
Conducting performance reviews and maintaining effective succession planning
Promoting company values and ensuring alignment with Holcims culture and priorities
What Youll Bring Strong manufacturing or production management experience within an industrial environment
Demonstrable track record of leading health and safety performance
Engineering knowledge (mechanical or electrical background desirable)
Strong leadership skills with experience managing operational teams
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving capability
Strong financial and commercial awareness including budget management and capital planning
Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers and suppliers
Strong communication and presentation skills
High levels of initiative, motivation and pragmatic decision-making
