Quest Employment is currently recruiting experienced and motivated Sous Chefs to join the kitchen team at a hotel/spa in Corby. This is an exciting opportunity for talented chefs looking to take the next step in their hospitality career within a professional and fast-paced hotel environment.
The Role
As a Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service are consistently delivered. You will help lead the kitchen team across restaurant service, breakfast, banqueting, and events while maintaining excellent operational standards.
This is temporary to permanent position, so if you are looking for full time employment, then this job is for you.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Supervise and motivate kitchen staff during service
* Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard
* Assist with menu planning, stock control, and ordering
* Maintain food hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP standards
* Train and develop junior chefs and kitchen assistants
* Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
* Ensure smooth service during busy periods and events
Requirements
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie background
* Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety procedures
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure
* Passion for high-quality food and hospitality
* Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends most of shifts are 2pm to 10pm, 5 out of 7 days
* Food Hygiene Certificate preferred
