AIT Technician required to work at the Harwell Science Campus in Oxfordshire
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Senior MAIT Manager, this role supports the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Testing (MAIT) team, ensuring products are assembled and tested to high standards across flight hardware and R&D programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Assemble flight hardware and R&D products
* Support testing activities including functional, electrical, vibration, shock, TVAC and RF testing
* Develop and maintain Manufacturing Assembly and Test Procedures
* Inspect machined parts using in-house metrology equipment
* Work with Product Assurance to define and qualify MAIT processes
* Follow internal processes and contribute to continuous improvement
* Support customer/internal reviews and visit suppliers when required
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong engineering background with experience assembling precision components
* Practical knowledge of MAIT and use of metrology equipment
* Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and procedures
* Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently or in teams
* Flexible approach to working hours to meet programme schedules
Desirable
* Experience in aerospace, automotive or space industries
* Knowledge of ECSS standards and aerospace processes
* Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent background
