About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational, enthusiastic, and committed teacher to join our successful and forward-thinking Social Sciences Department. The successful candidate will teach Psychology and Sociology at 6th Form level. If you are passionate about making a difference in students' lives and committed to high standards, we would love to hear from you. Applications from ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire and motivate students.
2. Teach across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (GCSE and A-Level), with possible contributions at Key Stage 3 where appropriate.
3. Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school and exam board requirements.
4. Contribute to curriculum development and schemes of work.
5. Participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings, and whole-school events.
6. Support and mentor students, encouraging personal growth and academic achievement.
Person Specification
Essential:
* A degree in a relevant Social Science subject.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching Social Sciences at secondary level (including A-Level).
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Experience teaching more than one Social Science subject.
* Familiarity with current educational issues and curriculum developments in Social Sciences.
* A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to student well-being.
