Our Clients busy restaurant is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Kitchen Manager who is passionate about the BOH and it operations. The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural leader who always has a finger on leadership trends. You will be responsible for assigning work in the kitchen, preparing meals for all of our guests, hiring and training staff, kitchen inventory and all food ordering controls. Responsibilities
* Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring every dish meets our high standards for quality, presentation, and taste.
* Lead and manage the back-of-house team, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, and mentoring, while fostering a collaborative, professional, and continuously improving environment.
* Allocate time for training and maintenance while managing the overall labor cost budget to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Manage inventory, food costs, and kitchen budgets to maximize efficiency and profitability.
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
* Innovate and refresh the menu with seasonal offerings, while ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish.
* Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a cohesive dining experience for guests. Partner with General Manager to drive guest experiences, coordinate effective marketing plans, increase revenues and elevate the position of the venues in the Toronto/Oakville market.
* Keeps overproduction and food waste to a minimum, ensures proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food in order to reduce food cost expense and more than that teach your SC's and front line team to do the same.
* Ensures that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines. Ensuring that the kitchen work area is clean, organized and that the equipment is functional
* Responsible for the day to day operations of the restaurant kitchens and ensures a high level of guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
* 1-2+ years of proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef in a high-volume, upscale restaurant setting.
* Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
* Leadership experience with a track record of developing and motivating kitchen teams.
* Financial acumen, with experience in managing food costs, inventory, and kitchen budgets.
* Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality.
* Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.
