Location: The role could be based in London, Barcelona, or Munich.
The successful candidate will be a key leader in the Global Engineering Services Sustainability and Automation (GES S&A) Execution Planning team. They will be responsible for planning, communication, and tracking of sustainability initiatives to drive decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resource positivity (waste, water, biodiversity) for the First (CF), Middle (ATS), and/or Last (AMZL) Mile business units in the EU. The focus will be to connect BU sustainability strategies with GES execution, foster thought leadership, and enhance data transparency and communication. This role combines technical construction engineering, program planning, and project management, requiring experience in sustainability requirements for new and existing buildings, especially in industrial or logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for sustainability in new fulfillment centers.
2. Track carbon footprint, perform engineering calculations, and review specifications for energy and carbon impact.
3. Maintain a program-level overview to inform decisions and monitor site progress.
4. Provide leadership visibility in challenging situations with high opportunity costs.
5. Coordinate with the Project Management Office on budget, milestones, and risks.
6. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and analyses for sustainability design requirements.
7. Survey fulfillment centers, develop procedures, and recommend energy and carbon-saving solutions.
8. Evaluate embodied and operational carbon, and implement reduction strategies.
9. Serve as sustainability SME, communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Manage contractors and consultants for carbon modeling and energy efficiency studies.
11. Work with permitting authorities on sustainability inclusions.
12. Collaborate with stakeholder teams on due diligence for new opportunities.
13. Establish and operate tracking systems for sustainability execution progress.
14. Gather lessons learned and mentor team members on best practices.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree
* Experience in construction project management, real estate development, or architecture with a sustainability focus
* Program or project management experience
* Data-driven decision-making skills
* Experience in strategy, delivery, and reporting to senior leadership
* Stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work autonomously and adapt in ambiguity
* Cross-team collaboration skills
* Experience with large, cross-functional initiatives
* Ability to handle changing priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.)
* Building professional credentials (LEED, PE, CEM, etc.)
* Experience with European building regulations
* Languages: French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu
