Summary
We are seeking a compassionate Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering personalised care to children and young people. The role requires female staff who have the ability to appropriately safeguard vulnerable children, ensuring that all aspects of their care throughout the night is reflective of each child's care plan and risk assessment.
the successful candidates will be nurturing and able to understand complex emotional needs of children and young people who have experienced complex trauma in their lives.
Responsibilities
* Provide individualised support to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
* Ensure that children are safeguarded in accordance with their care plans and risk assessments
* Implement behaviour management strategies which are agreed in the child's care plan and to promote positive interactions.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
* Foster a nurturing environment that encourages self-belief and personal development.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made.
* Engage in regular training and development opportunities to enhance skills.
* Qualifications
* Previous experience in residential childcare settings is essential.
* Strong commitment to trauma informed practice and understand what this means for the children in our care.
* Ability to administer medication safely and effectively.
* Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach.
* Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of children and young people.
