Senior Site Planner
Location: Hybrid/Mainly Remote – Offices in Ryehall (Stamford, East Midlands) and Middlesbrough
Contract: 6 months (view to extend)
Hours: Full time

Randstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Balfour Beatty for a Senior Site Planner to support National Grid substation projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the tender and pre-construction phases of major infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and management of complex construction project schedules.
*
Support tender production and initial contract planning.
*
Produce and maintain meticulous planning documents, reports, and presentations.
*
Ensure projects adhere to planning procedures, guidelines, and client requirements.
*
Proactively identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
*
Optimize resource allocation (labour, equipment, materials) to minimise costs and delays.
*
Collaborate with a growing planning team (currently 12 engineers, expanding further).
*
Interface effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
*
Previous experience in contractor-side planning (client-side only is not sufficient).
*
Background in substation projects strongly preferred; National Grid project experience highly desirable.
*
Advanced proficiency in planning tools (Primavera P6, Asta, MS Project, Excel).
*
Strong knowledge of construction project management and tendering processes.
*
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
*
Full UK driving licence (substations are typically in rural locations).
*
HND/Degree preferred but not essential.
