Position
Surrey and Borders Partnership (SABP) is looking for a clinical nurse specialist / non-medical prescriber in the NDS service taking primary responsibility for the prescribing and review of treatments for adults with ADHD and support of the wider Neurodevelopmental service.
Working hours & shift timings
General shift timings: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
* Undertake screening of ADHD referrals for suitability, inclusion, and waiting list placement.
* Carry out risk assessments, identifying risks and comorbid conditions that may require referral to other services.
* Assess patients referred for ADHD diagnosis and liaise with the Consultant Psychiatrist to confirm diagnosis.
* Prescribe and manage ADHD medication in line with independent/supplementary prescribing frameworks.
* Communicate assessment findings and treatment plans to GPs and other relevant services, adhering to shared care protocol.
* Collaborate with Consultants/medical colleagues to ensure pharmacological therapies are optimised and delivered safely.
* Maintain accurate records of appointments, caseload, and time/resource use.
* Keep up-to-date documentation of nursing records in line with Trust policies and legislation.
* Work in accordance with Trust Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) Policy and participate in NMP support groups.
* For new or newly qualified NMPs: practice initially as a supplementary prescriber before progressing to independent prescriber status per local SOPs.
* Undertake annual appraisal, objective setting, CPD, and mandatory training.
* Implement and support recommendations arising from audits and evaluations.
Safeguarding responsibilities
* Engage in safeguarding responsibilities for adults, children, domestic abuse, and public protection.
* Comply with Data Protection Act requirements and maintain confidentiality unless legally obliged to disclose information.
