Reporting into the Quality Control function, this position offers the opportunity to play a highly influential role in shaping inspection standards, documentation, and best practice across the business. You’ll be responsible for ensuring inspection activities are accurate, repeatable, compliant, and aligned with both aerospace regulatory standards and customer expectations.
Key Duties of the Quality Control Technician
Inspection Procedure Development & Standardisation
* Develop, author, and maintain standardised inspection procedures, work instructions, and control plans
* Standardise First Article Inspection (FAI) processes in line with AS9102
* Maintain centralised quality control documentation, inspection standards, and technical guidance materials
Validation & Technical Quality Assurance
* Support validation of inspection methods to ensure measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reproducibility
* Assist with GR&R / MSA activities to strengthen metrology capability
* Review inspection plans, staged drawings, inspection operations, and characteristic records
* Help drive consistency in inspection planning and measurement techniques
Regulatory Compliance & Aerospace Standards
* Ensure inspection processes comply with AS9100, AS9102, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements
* Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits relating to inspection and quality systems
* Interpret aerospace standards and translate them into practical shop-floor inspection processes
* Work closely with QA to maintain robust compliance standards
