Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Service (EBD)
Location: Erdington
Service: 3-Bed Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Salary: £29,000 – £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Sleep-in Rate: £50 per sleep-in
Rota: 1 long day on (07:30 – 23:00) followed by a sleep-in and 2 days off
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Driving Requirement: Must hold a full UK manual or automatic driving licence
We are working in partnership with a highly respected care provider who is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager for their 3-bed children’s residential service in Erdington, supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior residential support worker or existing deputy looking to take the next step in a service focused on delivering high-quality care, stability, and positive outcomes.
About the Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home. You will lead by example, ensure high standards of care are maintained, support staff development, and contribute to the home’s compliance and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home
* Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to deliver outstanding care
* Ensure the home complies with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
* Support care planning, risk management, and daily routines
* Build strong, trusting relationships with young people
* Work as part of a consistent rota including sleep-ins
Requirements:
* Experience in a children’s residential setting, ideally in a senior or leadership role
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, care standards, and EBD support
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
* Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 Leadership and Management
* Ability to work a rota of 1 day on, 2 days off, including sleep-ins
* Full UK manual or automatic driving licence (essential)
