Overview
We're now looking for a Transport First Line Manager to support our daily transport operations by leading a team of drivers.
Responsibilities
* Supervise, implement and coordinate productivity, communicating job expectations to direct line reports, ensuring that all deadlines are safely met within allocated time frames while maintaining standards of excellence.
* Ensure drivers are legal and compliant on a daily and weekly basis and ensure clear communication between all functions within the transport department and the warehouse team.
* Lead the work activities of drivers and the transport clerical team, providing effective leadership, communication, motivation, training and development.
* Carry out HR Management tasks such as staff reviews, appraisals, absence management and disciplinaries.
* Must have people management experience within transport.
* Must have experience working within a transport office/supply chain environment.
* Experience working within a unionised environment.
* Computer literate, Microsoft Office experience required; experience using Tachomaster desirable.
* Adapts well to change and change process.
Qualifications
* Experience and knowledge in transport operations management.
* Strong communication and team management skills.
* Knowledge of compliance and safety regulations.
* HR management capability.
* Union environment familiarity.
