Quality Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing
Location: Tipton, Sandwell (commutable from Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, West Bromwich)
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
Are you an experienced Automotive Quality Engineer ready for your next challenge? We are seeking a proven Quality Engineer with a strong background in automotive manufacturing and IATF 16949 quality systems. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of quality processes, lead structured problem-solving activities, and mentor junior team members while ensuring customer and supplier standards are met to the highest level.
The Quality Engineer Opportunity:
In this influential position, you will:
* Lead quality engineering activities across production and customer-facing functions.
* Take charge of APQP, PPAP, FMEAs, Control Plans and related core tools.
* Conduct internal audits, supplier assessments, and support customer visits.
* Drive 8D investigations and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
* Coach and develop junior staff members, supporting knowledge transfer within the team.
* Ensure full compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.

What We’re Looking For
* Proven Quality Engineer in an automotive environment.
* IATF 16949 Internal Auditor qualified (Second Party preferred).
* Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Core Tools.
* Experienced in leading 8D problem-solving.
* Track record of mentoring or managing junior quality staff.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Resilient, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of coatings or surface treatments is desirable
