The Role
As a Residential Children's Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment for children and young people. You will provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance while helping individuals develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
You'll act as a positive role model, supporting young people through challenges and celebrating their achievements along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Support children and young people with their daily routines, including personal care where required
Build positive, trusting relationships and provide emotional support
Promote safe behaviours and help manage challenges in line with care plans
Maintain appropriate boundaries, structure, and consistency
Support education, hobbies, and social development activities
Work in partnership with families, schools, and external professionals
Contribute to care plans, reports, and reviews with accurate record-keeping
Ensure the home remains safe, clean, and secure at all times
Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all young peopleWhat We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience working with children or young people in a caring or support role
Understanding of child development and emotional needs
Awareness of safeguarding, including risks such as exploitation, self-harm, and domestic challenges
Ability to remain calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations
Strong teamwork and communication skillsDesirable:
Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children & Young People (or willingness to work towards this)What You'll Bring
