About the Role

This is an exciting role to teach and assess electrical installation at Harrogate College, delivering Level 3 Installation and Maintenance apprenticeships. You will be joining an enthusiastic, proactive team that thrives to get the best results from the learners and works collaboratively to ensure the very best outcomes.
As an Electrical Assessor at Harrogate College, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of electricians. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering high-quality, engaging teaching, learners and assessment. You will design and implement innovative teaching and assessment methods to enhance the learning experience.
In addition to teaching, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the electrical apprenticeship curriculum, ensuring it remains current with industry trends and technological advancements. This includes designing new course materials, updating existing ones, and participating in curriculum review processes and involving employers to enhance the learning experiences.
We have a well-equipped, industry standard and professional workshop to teach the course's practical elements. The role will additionally involve visiting learners in the workplace to assess their knowledge, skills and behaviours in practice.
Overall, this role requires a dynamic individual, a commitment to student success, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, industry partners, and the broader community.
What You Will Do
1. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to apprentices.
2. Assess learners practical abilities against the apprenticeship standards knowledge, skills and behaviours.
3. Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the needs of learners.
4. Assess and provide feedback on student progress.
5. Support learners in achieving their educational goals.
6. Ensure compliance with all college policies and procedures.
7. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
8. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
9. Complete all essential admin duties as required to fulfill the role.
About You
10. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about their subject and has a demonstrable commitment to using their expertise to create an excellent teaching and learning experience for our learners.
11. You should be qualified to Level 3 or above in electrical installation and have some experience in working within the Industry.
12. You don't need to be a qualified assessor or teacher - we will support you in achieving the necessary qualifications. We just ask that you are motivated by helping others to learn, and that you really want to make a difference to people's lives
