Family Support Worker

Supply Desk is proud to be working in partnership with a caring and community-focused school in Pitstone, seeking a compassionate and committed Family Support Worker to join their team as soon as possible. This is a vital role, providing early intervention and sustained support to pupils and their families, helping to overcome barriers to learning and improve outcomes for children.
About the Role:
Support children and their families facing challenges such as emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties
Work closely with parents/carers to build trust and provide guidance on routines, parenting strategies, and accessing local services
Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to coordinate support plans for pupils
Offer one-to-one and small group support to pupils to develop resilience, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
Assist with early help assessments and contribute to multi-agency meetings
Promote positive attendance, engagement, and wellbeing across the school community
Maintain detailed records and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with families, children, or young people in an educational or community setting
Be knowledgeable about safeguarding, child protection, and early intervention strategies
Be empathetic, non-judgmental, and able to build strong relationships with families from a range of backgrounds
Be proactive, resilient, and solution-focused in challenging situations
Have excellent communication and organisational skills
Be able to work independently and as part of a wider pastoral or inclusion team
A background in social work, family support, youth work, or similar fields is highly desirable
