Role Overview
The Junior Sous Chef will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef, assisting in supervising kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and safety, and contributing to menu execution. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef seeking to progress into a senior kitchen management role.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest standard.
• Support in menu preparation, recipe development, and daily specials.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and feedback.
• Maintain stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimize food waste.
• Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Step in to lead sections or manage shifts in the absence of senior chefs.
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a busy restaurant.
• Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and presentation.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to support and develop junior staff.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations (Level 2 or above preferred).
• A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellence.
