The Torbay area, also known as the English Riviera, is a truly remarkable place. Those who live here know how naturally inspiring it is; those who visit get just a glimpse of why this UNESCO Global Geopark is one of Earth’s extraordinary destinations. Torbay is one of the National Lottery Heritage Fund's Heritage Places, a programme of sustained investment into the bay to assist in the promotion and protection of our local heritage and culture and its connection with residents and visitors to Torbay.
We’re looking for an experienced Local Heritage Grants Support Officer to coordinate the successful delivery of a second series of Torbay Local Heritage Grant Awards, the theme of which is ‘Artists, Writers & Musicians on the English Riviera’.

The post is part time (2.5 days per week) for 30 months and is fully funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Torbay Heritage Place Programme.
This post requires a Standard Criminal Level Check. This will show details of all spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions that have not been filtered in line with legislation.
This position is for a fixed term of 30 months from the start date.

Skills
Essential:
* The ability to work to deadlines on own initiative; effective time management skills.
* Ability to undertake procurement processes in line with Council procedures.
* Budget management skills and experience.
* The ability to produce and maintain accurate records, minutes of meetings and reports.
* Good project management skills, e.g., the ability to track budgets and prepare reports.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
* Up to date knowledge of a range of computer systems i.e. the ability to use software packages such as Microsoft office (Including Office 365, Teams Project).
* Working knowledge of Social Media platforms and ability to confidently share and promote materials.
* Good working knowledge of Budget setting and monitoring processes.
* An appreciation of history, heritage and culture and its value in place-making.
* An understanding of how local government operates, including procurement processes.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Evidence of having worked well as part of a team.
* Experience with operational administrative duties, e.g., minute taking, preparing progress reports, etc.
* Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
