Overview
Experienced Health & Safety Advisor required to join a leading contractor for the delivery of multiple framework schemes lasting five years across the Southwest, including Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire & Hampshire. These are negotiated projects for key clients with a good pipeline of future works in the area.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Manager and working with the site teams, you will manage the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality systems from the pre-construction phase through to handover.
The role involves regular client liaison, providing SHEQ guidance to site teams, and delivering support at bid & tender stages for the pre-construction team.
Carry out risk assessments, method statements and CDM plans, and be responsible for implementing development of the business SHEQ material and training.
Assist projects as SHEQ support, holding ultimate responsibility for health & safety standards across sites and working alongside the health & safety team.
Qualifications
Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within a main contracting organisation, with a proven track record delivering similar value schemes.
* Excellent client and site team management
* Solid knowledge of SHEQ standards
* Relevant NEBOSH certificate
* Drive and determination for self‐development and policy & procedure enhancement
Work will be within a busy contractor group with turnover in excess of £200 m and secured workload in the Leisure, Retail & Education sectors. Projects range from £10 m to £150 m in value.
