Responsibilities
* Cleaning, hoovering, washing, washing up, lifting, bending to pick up things, carrying objects up and down stairs.
* Changing the beds.
* Help with general shopping trips and food shopping; drive when required.
* Assist with moving house preparations.
* Be flexible to adjust hours for outings, holidays and other activities as mobility declines.
* Support trips to hospital where transportation or walking is needed.
* If health declines or infection, help with meal preparation; maintain high awareness of a child with severe allergies.
* Support personal care in future when required.
* Provide manual handling assistance as training is available.
Qualifications
* Kind, caring nature with excellent communication skills.
* Previous experience in a similar personal assistant role; ability to give examples of supporting someone with poor health.
* Good understanding or training around disabilities (advantage).
* Open to any qualification level.
* Valid driving licence; able to drive as required.
* Physically fit and a competent swimmer.
* Willingness to undertake future training, including manual handling.
* Maintain confidentiality.
* Able to work a flexible schedule and accept a 6‑month probation period.
Work Hours and Conditions
15 hours per week, split between two people or a one‑week on/off rota. Hours and days are planned each month in advance due to medical appointments. Monday–Friday every week, including school holidays.
