The role
We’re looking for a capable leader with a deep understanding of frontline charity operations, aligned with our mission and potential. You will engage with trustee, donor, and stakeholder meetings, guiding partnerships and content that centre our beneficiaries. The role involves managing the distribution of FLIC’s curriculum, overseeing the adult learning strategy, and supporting core functions like HR, finance, and fundraising over a 9-month tenure.

FT FLIC, founded by the Financial Times, promotes financial literacy through grassroots work, policy lobbying, and educational programs, aiming to reduce global financial illiteracy.
About FT FLIC’s programmes
The charity has developed a spiral financial literacy curriculum for secondary schools and a bespoke adult learning program for disenfranchised communities, addressing modern financial realities.
About FT FLIC’s Team
The team consists of 7 diverse professionals with backgrounds in education, outreach, fundraising, media, and operations, including qualified teachers and charity veterans.
Key responsibilities
* Manage strategic milestones, KPIs, and resource allocation.
* Engage with stakeholders, including beneficiaries, board, staff, and volunteers.
* Promote an environment of learning, innovation, diversity, and inclusion.
* Collaborate with trustees, FT mentors, and staff to maintain a skilled team.
* Lead fundraising efforts, develop strategies, and cultivate relationships with funders.
* Ensure financial stability through accurate management accounts and analyses.
* Support partnership development and programme growth, including contract negotiations.
* Enhance the charity’s visibility through media and events.
* Maintain trustee engagement, risk management, and compliance with policies and statutory duties.
Key requirements
* Extensive experience in a strategic leadership role within a social-purpose organization.
* Proven fundraising expertise and understanding of trust, foundation, and corporate partnerships.
* Personal or nuanced understanding of financial literacy and inclusion issues.
* Knowledge of diversity and inclusion practices.
* Strong communication skills and resilience.
* Financial and HR management skills.
Hours: Full-time, flexible; core hours 10am-4pm.
Location: Hybrid — St. Paul’s, Central London (3 days/week) and remote.
Reporting to: Board of Trustees, chaired by FT Deputy Editor.
