We are currently recruiting an Electronic Technician for our client based in Carrickfergus. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork and ANI completed. Pay Rate: £17.43 per hour Hours : Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday – flexible hours working with Core hours 10.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00. BT38 8PL Job Duties: Installation, service/maintenance and repair of Evidential Breath Testing Equipment. Installation and maintenance of calibrated measured distances. Installation, repair and calibration of speed metering equipment, as required by policing services within Northern Ireland. Providing a first line diagnosis and repair service to customers, across all 3 work streams within agreed timescales. Re-prioritising work to meet changing and competing demands. Informing the manager if work may exceed expected timescales. Contributing, appropriately, to development of new techniques and/or procedures. Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to maximise results and effectiveness of service. Checking stock levels, ordering of supplies and assisting in the preparation of financial budgets. Ensuring all documentation and results are accurately recorded and maintained. Completing all work in line with FSNI accepted quality standards and technical operating procedures (e.g. UK Accreditation Service). Completion of accurate documentation and maintenance of these records. Carrying out appropriate quality checks to ensure validated results are delivered to customers. Identifying and managing risk and reporting any issues to the team manager. Adhering to all policies and procedures in relation to equality. Adhering to all policies and procedures in relation to Health and Safety and Risk Assessments including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH). Essential Criteria: A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade A – C or equivalent including Mathematics, English Language and physics- and another science or equivalent. (Dates Must be provided). Desired Criteria: A minimum of 2 years’ practical experience in the last five years working within an electrical, electronic or communications engineering discipline with a Recognised or Accredited Quality System. Must be able to demonstrate practical experience in the diagnostic and repair of electronic equipment and the installation and calibration/service of medical; scientific and/or evidential equipment
