Reports to: Nursery Manager & Room Manager / Senior Nursery Practitioner
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate early years professional who is committed to providing high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework.
The successful candidate will take shared responsibility for the welfare, learning and development of a designated group of children, working with creativity and initiative to foster a nurturing environment that supports every childs all-round development.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement nursery policies and procedures to ensure EYFS welfare requirements are consistently met.
* Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS.
* Contribute to planning, observation, assessment, recording and reporting processes.
* Act as a Key Person for a designated group of children, building strong and supportive relationships.
* Work in partnership with parents/carers and other professionals to support childrens development.
* Maintain high standards of safety, security, hygiene, cleanliness and organisation across the nursery.
* Ensure excellent hygiene practices in bathroom, nappy changing, food preparation and service areas.
* Take shared responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of equipment and resources.
* Participate in performance management reviews and engage in ongoing professional development.
* Attend out-of-hours meetings and promotional events as required.
* Support the smooth running of the nursery, including staying beyond scheduled hours if parents are late collecting.
* Uphold a positive, professional and respectful approach towards children, parents and colleagues at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds a relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or Level 3)
* Has a sound understanding of the EYFS Statutory Framework.
* Is passionate about supporting childrens learning and development.
* Demonstrates flexibility, reliability and a positive attitude.
* Works well as part of a team and uses initiative confidently.
* Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
