Join our team as a School Transport Liaison Officer and help ensure children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive safe and effective home-to-school transport
As a School Transport Liaison Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact for families once a transport application has been approved. You will build strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers, developing a clear understanding of each child’s individual travel needs.
This position is advertised as full time but we may consider part time/job share.
More about the role:
1. Working closely with colleagues and external partners to assess eligibility and facilitate safe, cost-effective arrangements.
2. Liaising with the Safer Travel Team to ensure all risk assessments are accurately reflected in the transport provision.
3. Promoting Independent Travel Training to help young people gain confidence and independence.
4. Maintain accurate records and identify reoccurring issues to contribute to service improvements.
Our ideal applicant will have:
5. Excellent listening and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly with empathy to parents and carers.
6. Great relationship building and customer service skills. In this role you be a consistent point of contact for parent and collaborate with key partners and colleagues
7. Confidence to use digital IT Systems to manage and maintain records. Don't worry! We’ll provide full training on our specialist systems
