Job Title: Business Development Officer – Fundraising and Sponsorships
Location: Hybrid working model, Mid Herts Centre for Music and Arts with the requirement to travel across Hertfordshire, therefore a driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
Starting Salary: £25,545 with the opportunity to progress to £28,770 pa
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Fixed Term for 12 months

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly created Business Development Officer role within Hertfordshire’s Music Services traded service, Business Development Team.
As part this newly created role, you will report into the Marketing & Business Development Manager and work closely alongside other members of the Marketing & Business Development team, and Communications team, whose objective is to create strategies that generate revenue through fundraising and sponsorships.
You will be responsible for contributing and implementing strategies to attract and retain donors and sponsors, as well as managing relationships with existing and potential partners (both government and local funds) on such projects as the bi-annual Hertfordshire Schools Gala at the Royal Albert Hall and also managing the process for national funding streams.
Other key aspects of this role will see you:
1. Plan and execute fundraising campaigns by working with internal teams
2. Researching and applying for funding
3. Creating reports on the outcomes and the impact of your work
4. Maintain and develop a sponsorship database
5. Track each sponsorship and fundraising campaign to ensure a positive return on investment and analyse the effectiveness of our partnerships
6. Building relationships with both internal and external partners in order to achieve targets
As this is a new role you will have the opportunity to use your interpersonal skills and knowledge to find, convert and deliver targets and help shape the role to be highly successful.
Below are the essential skills and experience we are looking for:
7. Experience of professional fundraising and sponsorships, or similar experience in a marketing, sales or business development environment
8. Good literacy and numeracy skills
9. Good IT skills in order to use Excel, Emails, PowerPoint etc.
10. Ability to produce reports
11. Confidence in public speaking and delivering presentations
12. Track record of setting and achieving income targets
13. Ability to initiate and development relationships, communication and networking skills
14. A full UK driving licence and access to vehicle
