We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Vocational SEN Tutor to join our team. As a Vocational Specialist Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Salary:
The salary for this role is between £23,320 and £32,648 per annum, reviewed annually.
Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team in providing the best access to education for our young vulnerable children. The successful candidate will deliver tutoring to small groups and on a 1-1 basis within the school, and also in surrounding children's homes via our outreach services.
You will be supporting a number of vulnerable young children aged 8-18 years with SEMH and complex needs. This requires a flexible approach with a can-do ethos, drive, enthusiasm, and a sense of humour.
Key Responsibilities:
* To deliver vocational education to students with SEN, specializing in hair and beauty lessons.
* To work collaboratively with other staff members to provide a comprehensive education package.
* To assess and plan individual learning programs tailored to each student's needs.
* To maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An education qualification such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), or Level 3 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) and/or PGCE.
* Proven experience in the specialist education sector, specifically for young people with SEMH.
* Solid experience of working with young people that challenge.
* Experience and knowledge of vocational educational pathways and subjects (specialising in hair and beauty).
* Previous experience in one to one and/or small group tutoring.
* Committed, conscientious, and passionate about inclusion.
* Knowledge of results-based accountability in care and education environments.
* Ability to plan, evaluate, and monitor learning and progress.
* Ability to differentiate all aspects of learning to promote inclusion and attainment.
* Ability to build good relationships with young people and all others supporting the pupil.
* Highly organized and have the ability to prioritize and use their time effectively.
* Resilience, stamina, flexibility, and excellent inter-personal skills.
* A positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations.
* A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
* A good sense of humour.
