About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join a supportive and collaborative Children's Social Care team in Richmond, North Yorkshire. You will play a key role in safeguarding children and supporting families through strengths based, relationship focused practice. The service operates within statutory frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, ensuring safe and positive outcomes for children and young people.
Working Pattern
Flexibility reviewed based on service needs and performance.
Caseload
Manageable average caseload of 20-24 children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and prioritise cases allocated by your Team Manager
* Undertake assessments of children and families, making evidence based recommendations
* Work collaboratively with multi agency professionals to achieve the best outcomes
* Maintain accurate case records and produce high quality reports
* Present evidence in court where required
* Actively engage in supervision and performance reviewsEnsure all work aligns with statutory duties and best practice standards
Partnership & Multi-Agency Working
Promote a strong culture of interagency collaboration, engage effectively with statutory, voluntary and private sector partners, contribute to assessment, planning and commissioning of services, and ensure coordinated support for children and families.
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years post-qualification permanent experience (essential – DfE compliant)
* Registered with Social Work England
* Enhanced DBS check
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience in child safeguarding and statutory social work
