Hours: 29.25 per week (8:45-3:15, Mon-Fri)
Salary: £17,298.74 - £17,573.17 (Scale 3 pro rata)
Contract: Term Time, Part Time, Fixed Term due to funding for a specific child
Start Date: ASAP after appointment
Vale View Primary School currently has an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic and effective Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to work on a one to one basis supporting a child with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
The position will start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be calm and compassionate, have experience of working in a primary school and hold a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this. You will be predominantly working with a child on a one to one basis, to support them with their learning and emotional regulation and you will be supported by our caring and dedicated team.

About you:
You will hold a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards this
You will have successful experience of working in school setting and ideally with children with SEMH needs
You will have a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum
You will have knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and have experience of working to support children who have special educational needs
You will have excellent literacy (Level 2 qualification), numeracy and IT skills
You will be calm, compassionate, committed, motivated, flexible and able to think on your feet
You will enjoy working as part of a team but able to work independently too
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with parents, staff and outside agencies
You will have a sound knowledge of safeguarding
