L5 Planner/MEH Construction Planner
Location: Bridgwater
Contract Type: PAYE Contract (+ 36 days paid leave) or (Apply online only), paid via approved umbrella

The construction planner will support the construction lead planner in developing and progressing the integrated level 5 schedule, which encompasses the full MEH scope. The schedule also reflects interfaces with other tier 1 partners to ensure full integration.
The MEH Deputy Lead Planner is part of the MEH Programme, working with the PDO planning team, Delivery Integration, and the Area Management teams.
Principal Accountabilities
1. The development, integration, design, testing, and commissioning of detailed construction schedules within the MEH phase.
2. Considering all aspects of integrated mechanical, electrical, and HVAC (MEH) planning for works on the Hinkley Point C project, including conducting integrated schedule reviews to develop detailed, optimized construction delivery sequences and resource-loaded schedules.
3. Integrating construction activities with all HPC programmes within the MEH schedules to optimize planning, addressing interfaces, supporting the overall project integrated works schedule (IWS), and the 16-week lookahead process to facilitate work and schedule adherence.
4. Managing and updating schedule data within planning and production control tools.
5. Supporting performance optimization and influencing the 4D capability to enhance Safety, Quality, Cost, Time, and Risk across the MEH scope of work.
6. Ensuring MEH installation schedules are supported by relevant digital tools and data to meet delivery needs.
7. Producing, managing, and maintaining MEH Programme construction schedules according to planning procedures and contract requirements.
8. Reporting site progress using various methods and informing construction teams of schedule data.
Key Deliverables
1. Promoting safe and effective planning for site construction.
2. Incorporating safety considerations into planning processes.
3. Developing detailed plans at facility and area levels, integrating, coordinating, and sequencing work activities for optimal construction, paying attention to contractor interfaces within the 16-week horizon.
4. Communicating schedule resource requirements, durations, and quantities to construction leads.
5. Supporting the periodic lookahead process with rolling schedule extracts.
6. Identifying planning scope, constraints, and contract requirements.
7. Estimating quantities and factors affecting the programme.
8. Establishing and agreeing on construction outputs and working hours with delivery teams.
9. Developing resource, material, and quantity profiles from the level 5 schedule to support delivery readiness, especially for bulk MEH materials and equipment.
10. Creating schedule metrics and reports to measure adherence and performance.
11. Collaborating with the 4D team to develop animated schedule sequences and enhance project visualization capabilities.
12. Working with construction teams and PDO to develop visual management tools for field deployment.
13. Encouraging lessons learned to support future project execution.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
The Construction Planner should have knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction processes, including:
* Deep understanding of programme progress, forecasting, and planning.
* Strong communication skills.
* Knowledge of planning, programming, and progress monitoring methods.
* Understanding of construction market, methods, plant, equipment, and labor requirements.
* Basic estimating principles.
Qualifications and experience include:
* Experience delivering highly complex projects in regulated environments.
* Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of French is advantageous.
* Industrial experience in MEH delivery.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
* Experience with 4D and 5D planning.
* Background in nuclear construction.
* Construction trade or OND/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related fields; professional memberships (RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE, CIBSE) are a plus, or demonstrable experience.
