Job Overview
CheckFire are seeking a HSE Manager to ensure HSE strategies are developed and deployed in conjunction with the overall business strategy. The HSE Manager will instigate and maintain environmental permits as required along with fostering a proactive operational safety culture.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the company's health, safety and environmental policies.
* Conduct regular site audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
* Engage with the staff across the site to build a positive safety culture and gain buy in.
* Provide staff training on health, safety and environmental practices.
* Conduct Toolbox talks, Site walk arounds, and adopt a hands on approach to HSE.
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Liaise with external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with legislation.
* Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
* Prepare detailed reports on HSE performance.
* Evaluate and update emergency response procedures as needed.
* Develop, maintain and/or deploy a HSE management system (including objectives, processes and support) that meet the requirements of relevant Operational Framework and International HSE Standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.
* Provide competent and comprehensive HSE governance, advice and support to team members, enabling them to effectively manage HSE within their area(s) of responsibility.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold one or more of the following:
* NOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice.
* Level 6 NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety.
* Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelors or Higher).
* 3 years of experience post-qualification applying HSE knowledge and processes in work-related situations.
