Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
ProfessionLX specializes in professional services where we engage our employees to empower them to excel for our customers. We are currently seeking full-time Strategic Communications Specialist candidates to join our team in support of the US Navy's research mission. This position will provide support and services to the Office of Naval Research Global (ONR Global) personnel located in Santiago, Chile and Arlington, VA. The Strategic Communications Specialist will assist in preparing and releasing various communication products for internal and external audiences in support of ONR Global’s education and outreach efforts. Candidates should have 2 years of relevant experience and an Associates Degree or higher in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Advertising.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain organizational rosters, charts, and ‘placemat’ documents for internal and external distribution. Collaborate with HR and administration teams to track personnel onboarding and off-boarding. Maintain contact information and official portraits. Create and update templates for organizational products.
* Draft and process public release online content such as LinkedIn posts, blog posts, and newsletters. Develop templates and language for releases, ensuring compliance with policies.
* Prepare written products for public release, including the Prospectus report and Global Engagement Plan, involving language templates, marketing documents, and press release policies.
* Maintain and update ONR Global briefings for organizational meetings, recruitment, and presentations. Work with department heads to ensure organizational information is current.
* Update and maintain the ONR Global website as directed by leadership and the CSC team.
* Provide administrative support for communications, including coordinating tasks, attending meetings, drafting notes, and supporting events and conferences.
* International travel may be required, including annual travel to the US.
Requirements
What you will bring:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel)
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience with senior military, foreign governments, and international partners
* Ability to obtain necessary background checks
Education and Experience:
* Associates Degree or higher in Public Relations, Communication, or Advertising; 5+ years relevant experience may substitute for education.
* At least 2 years of relevant experience.
