Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our secondary school on a contract basis. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons to KS3-KS4, fostering strong literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
2. Teach a range of English topics including literature, language, writing skills, and exam preparation
3. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
4. Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies
5. Prepare students for internal and external examinations
6. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications & Requirements
7. Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
8. Teaching qualification/certification (, PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
9. Previous experience teaching English at secondary level preferred
10. Strong classroom management skills
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Ability to motivate and inspire students
13. Commitment to safeguarding and student well being
Desirable Skills
14. Experience preparing students for standardised exams (, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level or equivalent)
15. Familiarity with digital learning tools and educational technology
16. Experience working in a multicultural or diverse school environment
