Job Title: Clerical Officer
Service: Community Centres - Halton Borough Council
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Contract: Fixed-term, 6 months
Overview
To provide efficient clerical and reception support to the Community Centres and customers, ensuring a high standard of customer care at all times.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain manual and computerised filing systems to ensure information is accurate, up to date and easily retrievable
* Respond to telephone enquiries and take messages for officers as appropriate
* Order, receive and issue stationery, equipment and services, maintaining accurate records
* Ensure parcel deliveries are receipted by the appropriate department
* Undertake typing, word processing and data entry as required, including for frontline services
* Assist with the arrangement and servicing of meetings
* Receive cash and issue receipts for activities provided
* Provide general clerical support including photocopying, room bookings and post distribution
* Provide general information and advice about council services to customers, either face to face or by telephone
* Greet visitors in a polite and courteous manner, ensuring they sign the visitors' book and are directed appropriately
* Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post
