Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher with a passion for inspiring young people?
A vibrant and well-regarded secondary school in Darwen is seeking a Female PE Teacher to join their team from May 2026 on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.
The successful candidate will join a supportive department committed to delivering high-quality PE across KS3 and KS4. This role requires a female teacher due to essential timetable and safeguarding arrangements involving girls’ PE changing rooms and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Plan, prepare and assess students’ work in line with curriculum requirements.
Lead and support extracurricular sports activities and school teams.
Promote healthy lifestyles, teamwork and personal development in all pupils.
Uphold the school’s high standards of behaviour and safeguarding practices.
Requirements
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
Strong communication, organisation and behaviour‑management skills.
A proactive, positive and professional approach.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
