Job Description:
An established Transport Planning team spanning three offices is looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join their Fareham or Cambridge offices.
Your role will involve delivering Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Access Appraisals, and Junction Models for clients in sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Sports & Leisure, among others. You will lead and support Graduate Transport Planners and junior team members, while engaging with clients and learning from senior staff to develop your business skills.
You will join a team of over 25 based in Fareham, Oxford, and Cambridge, with flexible office location options. The team is sociable, with regular events, and offers a quarterly and yearly bonus scheme based on team performance.
Senior Transport Planner Requirements
* Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
* Membership of relevant professional organization
* At least 5 years of transport planning experience
* Knowledge of national design guidance
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office
* Ability to manage workload and delegate tasks
Senior Transport Planner Responsibilities
* Write, review, and approve technical reports such as Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans
* Prepare appeal documentation including Statements of Case and Ground
* Manage projects, including budgets and timelines
* Liaise with clients and authorities
* Train junior staff
* Complete and review planning drawings (visibility splays, vehicle tracking, access designs)
* Attend consultation and project meetings
* Prepare fee proposals and tenders
* Understand modelling packages and trip generation methodologies
* Support team members and cover responsibilities as needed
* Participate in business development and networking events
* Contribute to marketing initiatives and maintain client relationships
* Support company promotional activities
* Provide professional advice and judgments
