About your team:
At British Gas, our mission is to sell it and mend it.
We've been powering the UK's homes and businesses for over 200 years – but supplying energy is just part of what we do. We're making the UK greener and more energy efficient, getting closer to Net Zero. By using clever tech like thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers, we're making it cheaper and easier for our customers to reduce their carbon-footprint.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Product Designer with a strong background in user-centred design and a solid understanding of UX methodologies and best practices.
As part of our team, you'll play a key role in shaping our services with a focus on our residential customers. You'll help design and refine digital solutions that are intuitive, thoughtful, and aligned with customer needs.
Location: We have a hybrid-work environment, where you will be predominantly home-based but required to travel to office site occasionally
On a day-to-day basis you will be:
* Responsible for upholding excellent customer experience for all the products and journeys within your team
* Driving collaboration across teams
* Researching and understanding customer needs through explorative research, usability testing and data analysis
* Working closely with Product Owners and Tech teams to ship high quality work
* Contributing to our design systems and continuous improvement of ways of working within the team
* Champion and maintain standards of design in the wider business function
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
We need you to have experience working across all parts of the design process – although it's fine if you are stronger in some areas than others. This includes:
* UX Research
* UX Design
* UI Design
* Design thinking
* Working in an agile environment, supporting and collaborating with multi disciplinary teams
* Hands on experience in UX design and research disciplines, tools, and processes
* Experienced in working and contributing to design systems and design standards in Figma
* Experience of working on apps (iOS and Android) is preferred

* Strong communication skills
* Ability to create compelling and concise communications
* Ability to spot problems and opportunities and make necessary changes
* A genuine passion for improving collaboration and efficiency
* Ability to organise and prioritise work from multiple stakeholders
