Position: Deputy Farm Park Manager
Location: Church Farm Rare Breeds Centre, near Downham Market, PE34 3HT
Type: Full-time 43.75 hours per week, across 5 days, Sunday – Thursday incl. Extra paid hours will be needed at lambing and harvest.
About Us:
Church Farm is a Rare Breeds Farm Park open to the public seven days a week dedicated to providing an educational and enjoyable experience for families and School Groups alike. We pride ourselves on excellent animal care and creating a warm, welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Livestock Manager with operational tasks, staff organisation and visitor engagement. Deputise for the manager on their days off.
* Support staff and volunteers in general animal care and customer service
* Care for all our farm animals, to include sheep, horses, donkeys, cattle, goats, poultry & small animals, ensuring their health and wellbeing and performing routine animal husbandry tasks undertaken largely in public areas.
* Oversee all aspects of animal care & daily maintenance of their living environments
Requirements:
* Proven. strong leadership and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and ability to interact with visitors and groups
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, be physically fit and prepared to do regular manual handling
* Must hold a clean driving licence & be able to drive a tractor & trailer
* Ideally have telehandler, chainsaw & sprayer (PA1 & PA6) qualifications or be prepared to undertake the relevant training
