About The Role The role Adamson Jones has an outstanding opportunity for a qualified trade mark attorney not yet at partnership level to join our growing trade mark team at one of our offices around the United Kingdom. This role has arisen following an exciting period of growth for Adamson Jones as a forward-thinking firm of patent and trade mark attorneys uniquely positioned within the Gately professional services group. The team Adamson Jones is a growing firm of patent and trade mark attorneys. We are part of Gateley, which is a legal and professional services group employing around 1,500 people at offices across the UK. Adamson Jones is unique in the UK profession, being a standalone patent and trade mark attorney firm working within this wider professional services group. Our attorneys have the opportunity to work closely with solicitors and other professional advisers operating in a wide range of areas including corporate transactions, commercial agreements and disputes. In June 2015, Gateley became the UK’s first commercial law firm to list on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange. Since then, Gateley have acquired a number of professional services businesses and legal practices, which offer clients a full and varied range of complementary business services. It is within this progressive culture at Gateley that Adamson Jones is growing and expanding its reach though other Gateley offices. Our clients include a range of small start-ups and established private companies to large corporations, as well as overseas firms based across the world. The majority of our work is for UK-based clients across a wide range of commercial sectors and involves work across all areas of trade mark attorney practice including conducting clearance searches, drafting and filing trade mark applications throughout the world, managing watching services and advising clients about potential conflicts, and handling oppositions and cancellation proceedings and associated settlement negotiations. We have a very strong support team including certified IP administrators who are client facing and support our trade mark attorneys to ensure casework is handled efficiently. The person Candidates will ideally have at least two years of post-qualification experience and be capable of taking over responsibility for an existing caseload, as well as assisting with the continued growth of the trade mark practice as a whole, including through working closely with other professionals within the Gateley group. Ideal candidates will have the ambition to develop their career and become a senior member of our growing trade mark team. The position may be based any one of the Gateley offices located around the United Kingdom, including London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester in addition to our head office in Nottingham. We can also offer flexibility in home/office working arrangements subject to at least two days per week being spent in any one of the Gateley offices. The position also comes with opportunities to attend conferences including INTA and participate in other business development activities, as well as opportunities to be involved in internal CPD activities and the training of existing and future trainees. Although this is a full-time position, applications form candidates who are only able to work three or four days per week will also be considered.
