Build The UX That Powers the Future of Automotive
About Us
At Carpata, our vision is to build the vehicle and parts data infrastructure that powers the automation of the entire automotive aftersales industry. We're working with garages, dealerships, manufacturers, parts suppliers, and insurance companies across the ecosystem.
We're looking for a talented, customer-focused engineer who holds exceptionally high standards for accuracy, approaches challenges creatively, and obsesses over automation because automotive data is always evolving.
This is a unique opportunity to join a seed-stage company founded by experienced entrepreneurs who have built and exited automotive tech businesses. Backed by Concept Ventures (Eleven Labs, Jigcar, Superlinked), Nosara Capital (LeafLink, Max Retail), and angels from UK automotive tech leaders like CarWow, JustPark, Autotrader, and Bumper, we have big ambitions to drive change.
We're building a world-class team where you'll solve a huge pain point felt by millions across the globe in a +$2 trillion industry and do the most impactful work of your career. Join us in building the future of B2B parts.
Industry-wide Problems We're Solving
Eliminating Manual Parts Procurement
We're eliminating time-consuming part lookups and quote creation for automotive businesses, enabling them to order the right parts, first time, confidently. Service teams will be able to instantly convert customer queries into OEM part numbers, eliminating costly returns and delays.
Workflow Automation
Dealership health checks automatically generate accurate service recommendations, enabling fleet operators to procure parts across hundreds of vehicles without manual cross-referencing. Integration with existing systems will create unified workflows from inspection to ordering.
Democratising Parts Knowledge: Simple, Reliable Access
Complex vehicle specifications and inconsistent supplier data become invisible to end users through a single, authoritative platform that anyone can use reliably. The industry knowledge shortage is addressed by making parts identification simple enough for less experienced staff to achieve professional-level accuracy.
What You’ll Do
You’ll take the lead on building intuitive, high-performance front-end experiences that simplify complex workflows for B2B automotive users. Working closely with our designer, founders, engineers, automotive experts and our customers, you’ll help transform fragmented, procurement processes into seamless, digital journeys. While your primary focus will be front-end, you’ll collaborate across the stack to ensure these experiences are fast, reliable, and scalable. You’ll be joining at a critical inflection point, with a chance to shape the direction of a deeply technical product that blends structured data, live integrations, and user-centric design to drive real-world automation.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves
Front-End Excellence with Full-Stack Agility
* You’re confident writing modern, scalable front-end code with tools like TypeScript, Next.js/React, and component libraries (we use Tailwind, Radix UI and our own customer design system)
* You know your way around backend APIs, cloud platforms, and build pipelines
* You value simplicity, reusability, and speed in your approach to UI
Startup Mindset
* You’re resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
* You want to work in-person with a tight-knit team and ship fast
Customer-Centric Thinking
* You start with the user problem and care deeply about experience
* You think through the full lifecycle of your code — including performance, accessibility, and maintainability
* You don’t wait for permission to improve things
* You take ownership of your work and treat the company’s success as your own
Nice-to-Haves
* Experience with analytics, monitoring or observability tooling
* Background in automotive, marketplaces, or high-SKU B2B platforms
* Exposure to AI/ML-powered products or startups
* Prior experience leading UI best practices or mentoring engineers
This Role Is NOT For You If
* You prefer remote work — this role is in-person at our London office
* You want problems fully defined before starting
* You optimise for perfection over getting value into customers’ hands
* You prefer to work in isolation rather than collaborate closely with design and product
Why This Role Will Define Your Career
Tangible Impact from Day One
You’ll design and build the interfaces at the heart of a platform already used by leading automotive businesses. The work you do will directly streamline how parts are sourced, quoted, and ordered - improving speed, clarity, and confidence for users.
Foundational Influence
As an early joiner, you’ll have a genuine say in how our front-end systems evolve - from component design to UI patterns to cross-stack collaboration. You’ll help define our standards, not just follow them.
Collaborate with Proven Builders
You’ll work closely with experienced founders, a highly-experience and savvy engineering team, and a product designer with deep expertise in both UX and the automotive space. It’s a tight-knit, high-trust team that values pace, rigour, and customer focus.
A Unique Stage of Growth
We’re moving from early traction to repeatable scale. With customers live, integrations in place, and meaningful technical challenges ahead, this is a rare opportunity to shape a product and company with real momentum behind it.
A Platform Built to Last
With strong backing, stable foundations, and an ambitious roadmap, you’ll be able to focus on quality, not firefighting - delivering thoughtful solutions to meaningful problems at industry scale.
Hiring Process
* Intro chat with our CTO about the company and your experience
* Take-home technical task
* In-person working session with our Lead Engineer to walk through your solution
* Final chat with our CEO and product designer
