Mental Health Clinical Educator

An exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead on mental health education for acute hospital and community staff at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The post‑holder will plan, deliver and evaluate mental health education for multi‑professional staff across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The role will support the provision of education and training to a range of healthcare professionals and learners, ensuring all clinical staff are up to date with mental health training required for their role.
* Work across sites and with multiple teams within the speciality.
* Collaboratively develop, deliver and evaluate clinical education programmes.
* Act as a clinical role model, implementing processes to support training delivery and contribute to policy, guideline, and scope of practice development.
* Provide professional leadership for registered and non‑registered healthcare professionals.
* Provide hands‑on supervision of staff in clinical practice to promote skill and knowledge acquisition.
* Undertake training needs analyses to inform a training plan using internal and external resources.
Qualifications
* Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Degree level education in a relevant subject area.
* Post‑graduate level study or equivalent experience.
* Level 7 teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
* Coaching or mentoring qualification or completion of practice educator preparation programme.
* Specialist post‑registration certificate in clinical speciality or equivalent experience.
* Leadership module/qualification.
* Post‑graduate certificate in education.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Extensive clinical experience in mental health services.
* Well‑developed leadership, mentoring, coaching and clinical supervision skills.
* Ability to maintain communication about difficult matters or situations.
* Experience teaching individuals and groups in diverse settings and assessing learners.
* Experience providing constructive feedback and developing training packages (online and/or face‑to‑face).
* Knowledge of professional requirements related to supporting learners in practice (NMC, HCPC, etc.).
* Understanding of the impact of culture and psychological safety on patient safety and learning.
* Experience contributing to the development of Trust policies.
* Ability to design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes for diverse staff groups.
* Provision of clinical supervision.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, planning and prioritising skills.
* Teaching and presentation abilities.
* Project management.
Professional Requirements
Submission for Disclosure and Barring Service check (Rehabilitation of Offenders Act exceptions) will be required. DBS costs to be met by salary deduction.

Salary
£49,387 to £56,515 a year (pro‑rata).
