Service Care Legal are working in partnership with the Scottish Covid-19 Inquiry. We are currently recruiting Legal Advisor / Researchers to join the Inquiry's legal team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a statutory Public Inquiry of national significance, focused on the protection of human rights and delivery of public accountability.Key Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive legal analysis across high volumes of documentary evidence
* Identify and recover relevant evidence and potential witnesses
* Read into materials to develop lines of inquiry
* Take witness statements or direct statement takers
* Assist in the drafting and implementation of Inquiry procedures and protocols
* Support the management of Inquiry hearings and the final report process
* Conduct redactions and disclosures in accordance with GDPR and Inquiry policies
Person Specification:
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
* Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
* A degree in Scots law is desirable, although applications from other jurisdictions are welcome
