Join us as a Waking Night Children and Young Persons Residential Support Worker in our brand-new Mental Health Residential home in Coalville. We have an exciting project to deliver therapeutic residential care to some of the county’s most vulnerable young people. You would be working for one of the largest and longest standing childrens charity in England giving you job security and masses of employment opportunities.
About the home
Our beautiful new Mental Health Residential home in Coalville will support children & young people with a range of complex needs, providing a nurturing environment that enables them to continue to recover from the mental health issues that led to their admission to a Tier 4 CAMHS unit. The home will meet the specific needs of children & young people who are ready for discharge and no longer require inpatient mental health services, but are not yet able or ready to return to home or still require a period of time in a therapeutic setting.
What you’ll be doing
As a Waking Night Children and Young Persons Residential Support Worker, you’ll:
* To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities.
* To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals.
* To lead and support the Residential Support Workers in their day-to-day duties.
* To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc.
* To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date.
* To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.
* To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times.
What we’re looking for
* A driver with access to own car (essential)
* A background working with children and young people with emotional or behavioural needs (essential)
* At least 1 years’ experience supervising in a residential care setting (essential)
* A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (or a willingness to complete it)
* A solid understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
