Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced breakfast/prep chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be somebody looking for 'daytime' hours, looking after their breakfast section, along with assisting the other chefs with main menu prep, and helping with holiday cover as and when required.
The typical hours would be 7am-2pm, Monday to Friday, and would ideal for someone who enjoys the culinary side to being a chef, but does not want to work long hours.
Alongside feeding our hotel residents, you would also be serving our new brunch menu, which runs from 10am until 3pm, Mondays to Saturday.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast and brunch dishes according to established recipes and standards
* Oversee food presentation to ensure visual appeal.
* Assist with daily kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
* Comply with food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations
* Collaborate with front-of-house teams to coordinate service and optimise customer satisfaction
* Monitor portion control and minimise waste to maximise operational efficiency
Requirements
* Proven experience in a kitchen environment, ideally within a hotel or café capacity.
* Strong background in preparation, and cooking techniques
* Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
* Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* A passion for culinary arts with a commitment to quality and excellence
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential depending on experience
* Due to the location of the premises, a driving license is essential, as there is no public transport nearby.
This role would be ideal for an individual who is used to producing 'high-level' brunch food, and who enjoys assisting with prep.
