At Houston Methodist the FacilitiesTechnician Assistant position is an entrylevel position which isresponsible for assisting facility personnel in the completion oftasks by performing various aspects of work associated with theirshop/department for maintenance of Houston Methodist facilities.Under supervision this position supports performing safety andpreventative maintenance inspections and assists in obtainingmaterials associated with their shop/department. The FacilitiesTechnician Assistant position supports basic mechanical electricalplumbing carpentry and painting repairs/requests as appropriate andunder instruction fromleadership.

* Assists ininspections on a routine basis and identifies maintenanceopportunities and escalatesappropriately.
* Retrievesrepair parts shop tools and other items as specified and assistswith daily operations of thefacility.
* Seeks outadditional information and reference materials or guidance to gainclarification to make effectiverepairs.
* Assists withgeneral maintenance repair and preventative maintenance inspectionsto include HVAC electrical and plumbing as appropriate incompliance with codes ordinances andstatutes.

* Receivesdaily work activities and maintains set timelines as determined byleadership to optimize responsetime.
* Follows safetystandards policies and procedures established for the departmentand hospital and conducts all procedures accordingly. Maintainsawareness of environment and uses great caution while navigatingvarious work areas.
* Usestools and equipment to perform the job in an efficient effectiveand safemanner.
FINANCEESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
* Assists withcapturing accurate and complete documentation of workorders.
* Maintains the useand care of commonly used equipment and tools; does not wastesupplies. Selfmotivated to independently manage time effectivelyreducing incidental overtime and complete daily assignedtasks.

* Assumesresponsibility for growth and development by participating ininservices programs and continuing education. Completes and updatesMy Development Plan and discusses withmanagement.
