Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day care and support for children in a residential setting
• Create a safe, nurturing, and stable home environment
• Support children with daily routines, personal care, and life skills
• Assist with homework, activities, and recreational pursuits
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support strategies
• Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities
• Monitor and promote children's physical and emotional wellbeing
• Maintain accurate records and daily logs
• Work collaboratively with the management team and external professionals
• Attend team meetings, supervisions, and training sessions
• Act as a positive role model at all times
• Manage challenging behaviors calmly and professionally
Essential Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people (paid or voluntary)
• Understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Learning Disabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient
• Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
• Team player with ability to work independently
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Physical ability to engage in activities with children
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards)
• Previous experience in children's residential care
• Knowledge of therapeutic approaches and trauma-informed practice
• First Aid qualification
• Driving license

Shift Pattern

Training Provided

• Team Teach or similar positive behavior support
• Medication administration (if required)
