The opportunity
We are looking for a European Financial Controller to oversee Iris' European finance teams.
The role requires someone who has experience managing a team across multiple locations. You'll be confident implementing robust accounting processes and controls to reduce team time spent on reporting and administration and maximise the financial analysis and insight required to grow and optimise our businesses.
This role reports into the European FD and closely partners with the Group Finance function. Iris' European business represents approximately 50% of Iris Worldwide revenues and employees.
Your responsibilities as the European Financial Controller will include:
* Responsibility for the Finance functions in London, Munich, and Macedonia.
* Day-to-Day oversight of the MA team covering all aspects of the business partnering and management accounts, including but not exclusively billing, client balance sheet management, portfolio P&Ls and agency balance sheets.
* Management of a team of up to 8 people, ensuring that Iris hires, coaches and drives performance to create an outperforming function.
* Production and review of month-end reporting for group consolidation, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP / IFRS as required.
* Production and review of monthly forecasts for group consolidation.
* Supporting Treasury with cash flow forecasting for the European region entities.
* Annual budgeting for the region.
* Completion of regional tax submissions.
* Supporting the FD in monthly internal reporting on business performance and KPIs, including providing clear recommendations.
* London statutory audit management, ensuring timely audit completion.
What we are looking for
* A naturally collaborative accountant who is grounded with strong technical finance and controls principles and ambitious in drive to deliver commercial insight and growth.
* Someone who is unafraid to tackle data analysis and understand systems and has experience implementing simple but robust controls frameworks.
* A team leader who rolls their sleeves up, develops and drives talent.
* Experience operating in a fast-paced environment with tight reporting deadlines.
* Experience collaborating and gaining the trust of senior leaders and peers.
* A track record developing a deep understanding of the businesses worked in and leverage of this to reliably forecast and drive performance.
* A strong sense of accountability for Finance and the performance of the businesses they have operated in.
* Previous agency experience would be a benefit, mindset, capability and drive are the priority.
* Fully qualified member (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with a minimum of 5 years PQR.
* Advanced Excel experience.
* Experience using Maconomy would be beneficial but not required.
Hybrid working - We'd be looking for someone who is happy to work in a hybrid basis (Minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
